However, in production order, it's the twenty-third episode of Season 1.
Summary[]
The team discovers a machine which makes things bigger when it plays bigger and louder notes, and makes things become smaller when it plays smaller and softer notes. However, the machine starts to malfunction (making it shake rapidly out of control) until it breaks, causing the Little Einsteins and Rocket to shrink. Now, the team must find the lost piece on the playground so that they can grow back to normal size.
Information[]
In order to make the whole team and Rocket big again, First: You must find the missing piece of the Big and Small Machine as it lands into the slide from the playground. So you have to avoid all obstacles such as leaves and a kite. Unfortunately, the wind is blowing the team and they're entering the Cuckoo Clock from June's Room! Now you've got to help the team clap to the beat to avoid the gears from the clock. Second: While the team keep moving to enter the Playground, they got stuck on the art of sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh! And unfortunately, a big, bad bumblebee came to attack the team for trespassing his sunflower garden! So you have to help June do the wiggle dance to make Rocket out of the sunflower. Third: When entering the playground, they see a Queen Ant from her colony. They are going to ask her to find the missing piece of the Big and Small Machine as they are going to sing the song of following the leader. Fourth: The heroes now got the missing piece of the Big and Small Machine, but it's to heavy for Rocket to lift it up. So you've got to help the team pat their lap to the beat to prepare a blast off to make Rocket stronger! Fifth: When Rocket tries to hold on the missing piece of the Big and Small Machine, the heroes have to go back where they started from. And sixth: Help the team sing the fortissimo song to make themselves big again, and they completed the Shrinking mission!
Plot[]
The episode begins with the Little Einsteins in the Rocket Room, engaged in various activities such as painting, playing music, and games. Suddenly, they hear the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro," coming from the big and small machine. Curious, they investigate this machine. As they explore, the music causes a ball to grow larger, confirming that the machine can make things big! However, the music notes start spinning around the ball, causing it to shrink back to its normal size. Meanwhile, the machine begins to malfunction, spinning faster and faster while playing music notes all around the team, including Rocket offscreen, causing them to shrink down to a tiny size. Leo realizes that the big and small machine has made the entire team small. Quincy compares himself to a magenta crayon, exclaiming that he is smaller than it, while June adds that they are now minuscule. The group then notices Rocket, who has also shrunk due to the malfunctioning machine. Leo reassures everyone that they can use the machine to reverse the effects and return to their normal size. However, the machine starts to shake uncontrollably, spinning even faster. June realizes that it is breaking just as the top section detaches from the bottom and flies to the edge of the slide at the playground. The Little Einsteins realize they need a plan. June concludes that the big and small machine is officially broken, and Annie expresses her dislike for being tiny. Leo recognizes that they must retrieve the broken piece from the edge of the slide and bring it back to the Rocket Room to fix the machine and return to normal size. Quincy points out their small size, but Leo encourages them, reminding them that they have a mission to complete. Leo takes out his baton and announces that they need to find the missing piece. They all climb into Rocket, buckle their seatbelts, perform the pat sequence, and blast off in micro size.
After they blast off in micro size, Quincy realizes that the entire team is smaller than a flower, while Annie points out that they are about the size of a bee. Suddenly, Rocket stops and extends his overhead look-and-listen scope. They soon hear the missing piece of the big and small machine, which has landed at the edge of the slide in the playground. Rocket retracts his scope and takes off again as Annie sings the big and small machine song. As they fly, they notice leaves falling from the trees, which block their view. The wind blows at them, prompting Leo to tell Rocket to fly higher. Just then, a diamond kite obstructs their path, and the wind continues to push against them. Rocket skillfully maneuvers around the diamond kite.
Then, a gust of wind blew the whole team all the way to June's house, through her room, and into the cuckoo clock! Once inside, they listened to the tick-tock sounds from the gears. Leo soon noticed that there was a door on the other side, but four turning gears were blocking their way. Quincy had an idea: if they listened to the gears turning to the beat, Rocket could fly past them. He started clapping to the beat while saying "tick-tock." Following his lead, Rocket flew past the first two turning gears. The team continued clapping and saying "tick-tock" as Rocket navigated past the third gear. Annie then pointed out the door, and the whole team kept clapping to the beat. With one final push, Rocket made it out of the cuckoo clock!
After getting past all the turning gears inside the cuckoo clock, the Little Einsteins arrived in a field of sunflowers. Annie began singing the big and small machine song again, but soon the whole team got stuck on one of the sunflowers, which belonged to a bumblebee. They heard an angry bumblebee approaching. June quickly devised a plan to get off the sunflower by performing a wiggle dance, moving back and forth to the music. Rocket started to wiggle and squirm free as the bumblebee drew closer. June had to wiggle harder and harder until Rocket finally escaped from the sunflower, allowing the bumblebee to collect its pollen.
Soon, they heard the missing piece of the big and small machine as they're getting closer to the playground, and Annie sang the big and small machine again while Rocket flies through all of those grasses.
Soon, they stopped in front of the queen ant at the sandbox. Rocket landed in front of her, and the team exited, bowing as Annie asked the queen ant for directions to the playground by singing the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro." The queen ant joined in, singing the same song. She then pointed out a shortcut, so the whole team headed back to Rocket. He deployed his crawler tracks to follow the queen ant into the ant hole. As they entered the tunnel, they realized it was dark inside. Annie had an idea to navigate through the tunnel by playing "Follow the Queen Ant." When they heard the queen ant sing the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro," the entire team joined in. They followed the queen ant, singing the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro" back-to-back, and soon they made it out of the ant tunnel.
Then, they heard the missing piece of the big and small machine, which meant they were at the playground. Annie thanked the queen ant for guiding the whole team. They spotted the missing piece on the edge of the slide, and Rocket flew over to it, deploying his grab nabber. However, the piece was too heavy for Rocket to lift in his small size. Leo decided to perform a pat sequence once again to give Rocket extra power to lift the missing piece and carry it back home. Soon, Rocket received a surge of power, but June wondered how long he could manage to carry the heavy piece. Just as Rocket began to wobble under the weight, Leo realized they needed to retrace their steps to get home.
First, they followed the queen ant through the tunnel, singing the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro" back-to-back. They thanked the queen ant for leading them back the way they had come. Soon, they found themselves stuck on the same sunflower as before, and the bumblebee buzzed toward them. June had to wiggle while Rocket squirmed out of the sunflower. Eventually, Rocket managed to escape, and they were on their way to the cuckoo clock. Quincy pointed out that they were almost back to the Rocket Room. However, the wind blew them back into the cuckoo clock and into June's room at her house. Quincy began clapping and saying "tick-tock," and soon Rocket flew to the beat to get past all four turning gears. Finally, Rocket made it out of the cuckoo clock and headed back to the Rocket Room.
Soon, they made it back to the Rocket Room, where Rocket attached the top section of the broken big and small machine to the bottom section. The machine was soon fixed, and the whole team exited Rocket. As the big and small machine started working again, it played softly, so they all had to sing the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro" forte to make themselves big again. Soon, the machine played the "Four Seasons: Spring Allegro" loudly all around the team and Rocket, allowing them to expand back to their normal size. Finally, the whole team sang the big and small machine song one last time. Mission completion!
