The fourth wall is a performance convention in which an invisible, imaginary wall separates actors from the audience. While the audience can see through this "wall", the convention assumes the actors act as if they cannot.
As the Little Einsteins series is an interactive series, the breaking of the fourth wall is a common tactic used by the characters to progress through the story of numerous episodes.
Episodes where breaking the 4th wall occurs[]
This happens in many episodes. Usually, the fourth wall breaking would be done in various forms such as:
- The characters asking questions
- Telling the viewer to join in and dance with them at the end of the episode (such as in the end of Go West, Young Train)
- Telling the viewer to follow the music rhythm of a certain musical piece to progress through a certain area
- Asking the viewer to sing-along with them (mostly Annie)
Trivia[]
- It is one of the well-known recurring gags in the series, the others being the post-Curtain Call scenes of Season 1, the Thats-so-Silly! segments and Super Fast segments of Season 2.
