The Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, also known by its nickname as the Fate Symphony (German: Schicksalssinfonie), is a symphonic composition written by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1804 and 1808. It is one of the best-known compositions in classical music and one of the most frequently played symphonies.
It is the music that was used in Brothers and Sisters to the Rescue and Annie and the Beanstalk.

In Brothers and Sisters to the Rescue, Symphony No. 5 was used to sing the Hansel and Gretel song. It was also used by the witch to conduct her spells and whenever the witch was near, the symphony would play in a hard manner.
In Annie and the Beanstalk, Symphony No. 5 was used to sing the golden goose song. It was also used by the forte giant and whenever the giant was nearby, the symphony would play in a hard and loud manner.

- The initial motif of the symphony has sometimes been credited with symbolic significance as a representation of Fate knocking at the door. This idea comes from Beethoven's secretary and factotum Anton Schindler.
- The key of the Fifth Symphony, C minor, is commonly regarded as a special key for Beethoven, specifically a "stormy, heroic tonality".
- The symphony was played on the inaugural concerts of two prominent orchestras in the United States, the New York Philharmonic in 1842, and the National Symphony Orchestra in 1931.
- It is widely considered one of the cornerstones of western music.
- The symphony is the last track listed on the Little Einsteins Classical Collection soundtrack CD.
- The 4th movement, Allegro - Presto, is the first time the piccolo and contrabassoon were used in a symphony.

- During World War II, the first four notes (short-short-short-long) of the symphony was a powerful symbol with the Allies as they corresponded to the morse code for the letter V, which means 'victory'.
- This song was also used in 1999 for the premiere and in 2000 for the IMAX and theatrical releases of the opening scene from the early Y2K Disney film, Fantasia 2000, alongside The Firebird Suite.
- The song is among one of the few music by Beethoven (alongside the Cavatina movement from String Quartet No. 13) to be sent into outer space on the Voyager Golden Record, which is a phonograph record disc containing samples of images, sound effects, languages and music of Earth.
- This song was played in the Adventure Time episode "The Eyes", While trying to lure the horse, he also plays Moonlight Sonata and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
- In the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange uses Beethoven's 5th Symphony to fight against Sinister Strange, who is using the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (aka the Blue Lobster Jump Scare theme) by Johann Sebastian Bach.
