L'Arlésienne is an incidental music composition that was composed by Georges Bizet for Alphonse Daudet's drama, L'Arlésienne. It was first performed on 30 September 1872 at the Théâtre du Vaudeville in Paris. Originally comprised of 27 movements, it was adapted into two suites, comprising of 4 movements each.
L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2, composed in 1879, is the second of the L'Arlésienne Suites. It was used in the episodes, "Go West, Young Train!" and "Annie's Solo Mission".

- It had received poor reviews in the wake of the unsuccessful premiere of L'Arlésienne, and is not performed in its original form, despite recordings being available. Still, some fragments of incidental music such as the Farandole have become Bizet's most popular compositions.
In popular culture[]
- The Farandole of the L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 was one of the few pieces performed at the Pyongyang Concert by New York Philharmonic, alongside the Symphony No. 9 in E minor - "From the New World" in 2008.
